Welcome to Yayoiken Hanshin Nishinomiya

General Info

If you’re exploring dining spots in Nishinomiya, Yayoiken Hanshin Nishinomiya is the kind of place that quietly wins you over. It’s a classic syokudo and teishoku restaurant, which means you can expect balanced set meals, comforting flavors, and a relaxed, everyday atmosphere that feels welcoming from the moment you walk in.

The menu is straightforward but satisfying, focusing on Japanese home-style meals done right. One of the standout options is the から揚げ定食-crispy fried chicken that’s juicy inside and paired with rice, miso soup, and sides. It’s the kind of dish that hits the spot whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. Another reliable favorite is the サバの塩焼定食, featuring perfectly grilled mackerel with just the right amount of salt, bringing out its natural richness without being overwhelming.

For something a bit heartier, the 肉野菜炒め定食 delivers a stir-fried mix of meat and vegetables that feels both filling and balanced. The portions are generous, and the flavors lean toward that comforting, home-cooked style you’d expect from a neighborhood diner. If you’re in a hurry or prefer eating elsewhere, the takeaway option like テイクアウト なす味噌と焼魚 is a convenient choice, offering the same quality in a portable format.

What makes this location stand out isn’t just the food-it’s the overall experience. The setting is casual, making it especially popular among college students and locals looking for an easygoing meal. At the same time, the service is efficient and reliable, so you’re never left waiting too long. Whether you’re dropping in for breakfast or grabbing a quick bite later in the day, the flow of service feels smooth and well-organized.

It’s also nice to see practical touches like credit card acceptance, which adds convenience, especially for travelers. And if you’re in the mood to unwind a bit, having beer available rounds out the experience nicely without changing the laid-back vibe.

From the menu variety to the comfortable setting, this restaurant fits naturally into the rhythm of daily life in Nishinomiya. It’s not trying to be flashy-instead, it focuses on consistency, good portions, and familiar flavors that keep people coming back.

What customers say?

“ You order your food at the machine by the door, it has both Japanese and English menu, along with pictures to make it easier for you. The miso soup was especially delicious, as well as rice. Water, green tea, and rice refills are free of charge. Food delivery was very fast as well. Will definitely return to eat different sets. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite. ”

“ Delicious fried chicken lunch. Very reasonable prices and helpful staff. Good menu and convenient location. Part of a nationwide chain, so you know what you’re in for. Lovely! ”

“ Although it's a chain restaurant, the taste doesn't change much from store to store. My favorite staple dish is the fried chicken set meal. ”

“ Even after the state of emergency was lifted, restaurants in Nishinomiya were still subject to significant restrictions due to requests to shorten business hours. At that time, Yayoiken, located near the station, released a new menu item, so I decided to give it a try. The menu item was a chicken tempura set meal. I even got a small side dish of beef! The Ryogoku branch in my hometown rebranded and then closed, so I hadn't been there in ages. I knew they had a machine that dispensed portions with the push of a button, and I think it was only natural given the changing times, but I had no idea they had started offering free dashi! I wish they had offered this service when I was eating so much rice! (Cry) The chicken tempura was huge, and it came with mustard, ponzu sauce, and grated daikon radish, which I was very happy about. ”

“ This national chain set meal restaurant is located in Ebisu Stadium, just below Hanshin Nishinomiya Station. I was debating where to go for a late lunch and decided on Yayoi-ken. The yakitori with sweet and sour sauce was even more delicious than I expected - don't underestimate it just because it's a chain restaurant. The fried chicken itself was even better than I expected. The mapo eggplant...wasn't to my taste, but considering the price, it was a great value set meal. I ordered an extra omelet. It's interesting that the rice refills are done automatically by a robot. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. ”

“ I had the miso pork cutlet stew set meal. They open from 10am so I was able to have it as an early lunch. ”

- 海底都市 -

“ I've been here a few times and I really like how attentive the staff are. The customers are also refined and most of them seem to be people who work at Nishinomiya City Hall. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat a set meal in a quiet place. ”
